God Offers Mercy

Isaiah 55:6-9 “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; 7  let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. 9  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.

I believe this passage of scripture is one of the most ultimate pleas to accepting salvation in the Bible! However the plea comes from a just cause. Isaiah screams out, “Seek the Lord while he can still be found!” What a plea! He is calling out for the people of his day to repent and seek God before he can no longer be found, and that plea extends to today! You see, one day the Church of Jesus Christ will be raptured or snatched away out of this world. When that happens, the Holy Spirit will no longer roam the Earth convicting humans of their sins. The only way to receive salvation then, is to be murdered for your faith and lack of accepting the Mark of the Beast!

“But Blake, you don’t know what I’ve done in this life! How could God forgive a person like me?” That’s the key to this passage. God himself says “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, for I think heavenly so my ways are higher!” What our God was saying is “I don’t think like humans! I don’t show partiality. I forgive ALL sins no matter how great or how small! That’s why the passage says that God will have mercy and abundantly pardon. This can only be done out of love! Only a loving God could look at the foulest human being who asks for forgiveness and say “Your request is granted. You are pardoned my child!”

But you must seek Him while He can be found. Lost soul don’t wait to accept the gracious gift of Christ today!

What a mighty MERCIFUL God we serve!!!
